《AWAI》 explores, through tapestry, states of perception that emerge from the coexistence of different colors, structures, and images, taking the Japanese concept of “awai” as its point of departure.From a distance, the woven surface emerges as a single image; as the viewer approaches, however, it gradually unravels into the intersections of threads and woven structures, causing the boundary between image and structure to waver.Depending on the viewing distance, order shifts between noise and harmony, bringing forth the perceptual fluctuations that arise in between through the colors and structures inherent to tapestry.
