I create my work while contemplating the significance of making tapestries in this era. I question how their purpose differs from that of the past, and how they are distinct from painting or sculpture. With a constant sense of doubt toward the form itself, I strive to face the act of weaving by hand with sincerity, and to explore the potential of tapestry.
I believe that tapestry has the ability to transcend both place and time—reaching locations that are physically inaccessible, or eras far from our own. It is a medium that can take me anywhere. I want to keep moving my hands, continuing this journey together with tapestry.
